Hurricane! ‘38, ‘54, ‘91
An exhibition of three historic Westport hurricanes
Climate extremes have been a daily topic in recent years. This exhibition will look back at the impact of the Hurricane of 1938, Hurricane Bob 1991, and offers a second chance to see our popular Hurricane 1954 display, showcasing images from the collection of the Westport Historical Society, highlighting dramatic rescues and experiences of those living along the shoreline at East Beach, the Point and Westport Harbor.
Kids Make History!

Drop in for some creative crafts and family fun! Make a corn husk doll, create a sunprint, scavenger hunt and take an adventure along the Heritage Trail. FREE.
Artist-in-residence: Discover the lost art of cyanotypes!
Meet our first ever artist-in-residence at the Handy House! Tina Tryforos is a photographer and educator specializing in the historic photographic process of cyanotypes, the Prussian blue image invented in 1842 by Sir John Herschel. This residency will offer hands-on workshops to allow community members to make their own cyanotypes, using this easy non-toxic photo technique which can be exposed in sunlight and developed in water.
