SO. EA. SHELLFISH ASSOCIATION

Volunteers dedicated to improving Westport’s Shellfih harvest. Shows the dedication of a self funded experimental “Shellfish Shack” to initiate a Shellfish breeding program.

This new type of development raised some concerns but its success has earned it respect ad praise for decades.

Filmed at the then Charter studio over which I had no jurisdiction over personnel or equipment. Video quality at these early times was somewhat lacking.
Small screen viewing quality is better while valuable historical value is preserved. This period was one of adjustment after the 1993 School Reform Act passage.


ST-VINCENT’S HOME CONTROVERSIAL PROPOSAL

This facility proposal for troubled youths caused concerns with neighbors and others. Its eventual operation proved most concerns to be overly apprehensive.
The program was relatively short lived and the St-Vincent has been unoccupied for many years.
This video was filmed in the then Charter studio. Therefore the video quality is lacking. Small screen viewing helps in this situation.

NORM DUQUETTE. “DUKE”. CAREER FIREMAN EMT

“Duke” worked out the details of transitioning Ambulance Services from the Police Department to the Fire Department during the early 1970’s. This was a quantum improvement leap in improving that service which answers thousands of Ambulance calls per year. Most of which are reimbursed by Insurance company.
In Westport firemen do the double duty of answering Ambulance calls and most Fire personnel are fully qualified for both.
