Smart phones also will be of special use in testing a new QR code system of interpretations placed along the trail. Meet at the Hix Bridge Road parking lot. Pre-register by April 24 at www.macro-photography.eventbrite.com. Rain date: Sunday May 3. Suggested donation $5 (bring on day of event) to benefit Westport Historical Society
Test the Trail
9 AM – 1 PM Saturday May 2 at the Handy House, 202 Hix Bridge Road, Westport
Were there wolves in Westport? Why are there stone walls in the woods? How did early settlers make use of trees? We invite you to explore the new Handy House Heritage Trail. We need your feet and your feedback! The trail provides an interpretive experience for visitors exploring the history of our forests and landscape. We are testing different modes of interpretation such as signage, brochure and smart phone technology! The 0.7 mile trail begins at the Hix Bridge Road parking area. Meet trail committee members and join us for light refreshments and informal conversation about the trail. FREE. No pre-registration required. Drop in anytime between 9 AM – 1 PM. Rain date Sunday May 3.
