Meet author Robert Barboza and pick up his latest volume of stories about soldiers, sailors, shipbuilders and other Patriots from the South Coast region.
Tour the newly renovated Bell school and history center! The history center offers a changing display of recently donated artifacts such as a portrait of one of the original “cranky yankees” as well as a permanent display introducing visitors to the fundamental themes of Westport history, from early settlement to whaling activities and 20th century hurricanes. The permanent exhibition includes whaling logbooks, the old Point bridge key, and a unique Westport-made tall case clock (complete with a moon dial!)
The history center serves as the office for the Westport Historical Society as well as providing ample climate-controlled storage space for the collection of historical artifacts and archives. Free and open to all.
