Artist

1853-56 Main Road, Westport Point

Lucia Paull graduated from Smith College in 1938 and was a graduate student in Landscape Architecture at the Cambridge School. She lived in many different places while her father was engaged as a Ceramic Engineer. She married Richard Paull in 1941 and by 1944 they had moved to Westport Point. Lucia was inspired by the Point, creating a series of linoleum block Christmas cards depicting her surroundings. Today, many homes at the Point display her house-by-house depiction of Main Road. Lucia designed the interior trim in her Main Road house and she painted watercolors, particularly when she traveled. She was involved with the New Bedford Seamen’s Bethel and was honored/acknowledged for her work in designing the garden area.
