Beyond the Grave: “Reading” 18th century New England Gravestones

10 AM Thursday April 7 at the Paquachuck Inn, 2056 Main Road, Westport Point

Get your passport and visa ready because we’re going on a trip of the imagination to Rhode Island! Not just anywhere in Rhode Island but Little Compton to explore one of the most well preserved colonial burial grounds in North America. Albert Lees III will share his research into “graven images” and symbolism and will discuss how early colonial mortuary art provides us all with a current window into the cultural and social practices of the past. Suggested donation $5.
