Paul Pannoni of Westport Point and Dawn Manchester formerly from the Point announce the release of their book Biographies of Civil War Soldiers and Sailors of Westport, Massachusetts. The book contains 172 biographies of veterans from Westport and the nearby communities. Notable family names include Allen, Brightman, Brownell, Cornell, Davis, Gifford, Kirby, Macomber, Manchester, Petty, Potter, and Sowle. Read battle and family history stories compiled from veteran pension records at the National Archives in Washington, DC and from family vital records. Books will be available for purchase.
